Bybit, one of the world’s leading cryptocurrency exchanges, has announced that it has obtained an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license in Austria. This step marks significant progress in the company’s strategy to expand its services throughout the European Union. The license allows Bybit to officially offer innovative financial products, including cryptocurrency cards and peer-to-peer (P2P) payment solutions, that comply with strict European regulatory standards.

According to Bybit, the new license will provide EU customers with direct access to euro-denominated transactions and enable them to use cryptocurrencies for everyday payments. The launch of cryptocurrency cards is expected to significantly simplify the integration of digital assets into the everyday economy, while P2P payments will ensure convenience and security for transfers between users. In 2025, the EU’s electronic payments market is projected to reach 1.8 trillion euros, underscoring the growth potential for new financial services.
