Ethereum hits new all-time high at $4,956
On August 24, 2025, Ethereum reached a new all-time high of $4,956, according to TradingView. The price then saw a minor correction, and at the time of writing ETH was trading below $4,700, while showing a weekly gain of around 4.6%.
This new ATH continued the upward trend that began on August 22, when Ethereum broke above $4,880. At the same time, the ETH/BTC pair climbed to its highest level since September 2024 – around 0.043 BTC. This may indicate a narrowing gap in Ethereum’s valuation compared to Bitcoin.
Meanwhile, Axios reported that Ethereum surpassed its previous 2021 record of $4,945.60, with market capitalization approaching $600 billion. The growth was fueled by institutional investor activity, ETFs, digital treasuries, and growing market optimism.
Experts such as James Butterfill from CoinShares emphasize that Ethereum’s flexibility and multifunctionality as a smart contract platform play a crucial role in attracting interest to the asset.
